Hi all...I have an aquarium I would like to sell. I originally had a turtle in it, but now he is happily in my pond. I have read when you have fish or turtles not to wash the aquarium with soap etc. So I never have, just did weekly cleanings with water changes, gravel vacuum etc. Well I wanted to clean it before I sell it, but not sure what to wash it with? Can I go ahead and clean it with some dish soap and rinse really well? Or should I just hose it down really well? Also, I have some filters that I used, would anyone else be able to use those? I hate to throw them away, they're less than a year old and I don't need them anymore, but not sure if there would be a problem with different bacterias etc. Thanks for any help!

Clean with a little bit of bleach and water. Bleach does not leave residue like soap does. I took care of the tanks at a pet store I worked at for years. We even soaked the plastic plants in some bleach water. Oh, when you refill the aquarium the dechlorinator will take care of the bleach.

Regular table salt and white vinegar in water. Rinse well.
