Freddie sure is cute. Do you keep him and Jason in an aquarium with sand?

This is a most unusual pet. I'll be interested in hearing what their domicile is like and what they do during the day and night.

That's a very cool looking crab. I thought it would be a pic of a dog for some reason - haha!

I'm still working on the best substrate for the tank. Right now I just have some bedding called Coco Soft made from coconut husks. but plan to upgrade their tank to give them a sandy beach area. They are more lively at night, but I can pick them up any time of day. They seem to like to climb, so I'm making more provisions for that. They do have claws, but have yet to pinch me. Older ones can be more aggressive if not handled as a baby. Jason still runs from me which is cute to watch.

I'm glad I don't eat seafood, lol.

Hi freddy!

I think a pet crab would kinda freak me out - but he looks so cute and friendly!

*pats the little crab head*

That's too funny, I guess the mods don't know much about crabs. Maybe they think he lives in an aquarium. I'd actually like to see what kind of set-up you have for him. He is a very nice-looking crab!

I'm a Central American specialist and have never seen these guys offered for sale. I'm assuming they're a mangrove or brackish loving species? It's good management on your part to offer them both types of water! Good luck with both of them!
