I've read some feedback about high cost of living and difficulty fining the job... I am nor really clear on the high cost of living compare to NJ where we live now. is it about the same? We have two small kids... How are the day cares in the area? My kids are going to YMCA day care and love it! How small is the town? Is it getting boring to live there? How is the job market, any better? Thanks for your feedback!

answering your ?s in order.......

here's a nifty living cost comparison site posted in another thread...enter your cities....

Cost of Living comparison calculator

can't comment on the daycare....

the town has about 40-50K people plus several more thousand at NAU....

only the boring are bored.....

and the job market will always be tough for higher-paying jobs unless you are a doc, lawyer, or other professional....lots of service jobs, low-paying....student jobs....everybody doing each other's laundry-type jobs....tourism, too....do your research!!!!!

The 3 major employers here are Gore, NAU and Flagstaff Medical Center. There are also likely many jobs in the service/tourism industry since litterally millions of people pass through Flag throughout the year to visit the Grand Canyon, Sedona, Lake Powell, etc. I guess it would depend on what field you are in. Good luck.

I love living in Flagstaff, Az. It's a beautiful place with really kind people. If you are outdoors people, this is the place. There are a ton of things to do for families. Lots of festivals, concerts, hiking, etc. I highly recommend it.
