As most know, there was a landslide in Feb of 2013 in the Page, AZ area. Highway 89 buckled and the road was closed. A new bypass was started and it is fully operational now as of the middle of October. Interesting footage and story here: Overview

Great to hear ! I read it's a 55 mph zone but that beats the heck out of driving almost to Kayenta and backtracking all those miles NW to Page. I just went up to Monument Valley a month ago and saw the increase in traffic and am glad it's complete. Hats off to ADOT as they expedited a project that normally takes years to allow Page's lifeline to be restored.

Several updates have been posted to the site in the link above. Worth watching if you travel around the Page and Navajo Nation area. I'm impressed with the breadth and depth of ADOT's information sharing. They got 89T (detour route) up and running quickly and have improved N20 (Navajo Highway 20). It's good to see a government agency being so responsive, responsible and accountable. So I'm bumping this thread again so those who are affected by travel in this region can see the progress.
