Anyone have a lead on an inexpensive 2 bdr place in this area? I'd rather buy than rent. I don't even know the price ranges. I have a business that allows me to work from anywhere as long as there is a decent Internet connection and cell phone service.

Thanks!

You may want to be a little more specific, Kate.

What do you consider inexpensive? What are your needs and/or wants as in garage, yard or view?

Good Luck

Kate, leads like that usually don't make it into the MLS.

Smile reply to Sedona request

Where are you relocation FROM? I have a beautiful 3 bedroom, 2 bath home in Cordes Lakes. Straight up I-17. Less than an hour from Phoenix. Good internet connection, I used Alltel cell phone. No problem. satellite dish on roof. Beautiful country living without the expense of Sedona. Surrounded by mountains. Clean air. Four seasons. House is recently painted inside and out. Papered. Fireplace. Hickory cabinets. Arched doors, w/vaulted ceilings. fans in each room. LOW taxes. Beautiful pine trees in the front yard, I planted from babies. Screened in back porch for indoor pets. Nice yard. VERY affordable. I am only selling because my husband passed away recently at the age of 40. My health is poor from taking care of him the last two years. We had planned on staying there forever. We had the home built. It is only 8 yrs old. I miss it. Its WONDERFFUL country living. 2,000 people only. Less than 1/2 hr from shopping. Must see to appreciate! Robyn

Inexpensive in Sedona, not going to happen. Oak Creek is alittle cheaper but no comparision to Sedona. A small 2br home in Sedona will cost you $400K plus, more with good views. A condo maybe $250K plus...and I'm talking 1000sqft

And this why Sedona's nickname is "Beverly Hills on the Rocks". I love Sedona, absolutely beautiful area.

Sedona is now feeling the real estate crunch just like everywhere else. Prices have come down and are still falling. Inventory is high. That said it is still more expensive that most parts of the state. Check out Realtor.com and then come for a visit. It it quite beautiful and if you like to hike it is heaven.

Default Big Bucks

Sedona has been kept nice for a select few. Traffic is aweful and they have closed most of the area to humans. Used to be able to pull off to the side of the road and hike, not you have to park in special places and pay to park. You can't just drive out into the desert and hike or camp. But you can buid a modest million dollar property with no problem.

Sedona is surrounded by the Coconino National Forest. Unlike some other national forest/park areas you do not have to pay to enter it or drive through but a Red Rock Pass is required to park near hiking trail heads. The $$ are used to maintain the trails, remove trash left by hikers etc. IF you already have a national parks pass you just stop at a Forest service office or any place that sells the Red Rock passes and they will give you a hang tag for your National Park pass.

I am not sure what you mean when you say that they have closed most of the area off to humans. That is simply not true. Yes there is a lot of traffic on weekends, holidays and during the summer. It s a spectacular area and that accounts for the many visitors.

Sedona is still expensive and it has alway been that way as i work in Sedona. I talk to be people lived here in 80s & 90s and they said houses where expensive then.

If i was going to move to Sedona i would move to the Village of Oak Creek, its much more quieter. PLus they are 4 laning the road to Sedona from the Village (locals call it that) making it much fast to get to Sedona.

THere are lots of houses for sell in the village i mean lots i drove through earlier this year and there was like at least 4 houses for sell on each street. BUt go search the internet house there.

I live in Cottonwood which is like 15 minutes from Sedona but looks different. People who work in Sedona 9 times out of 10 live in Cottonwood. Its much cheaper, rent is like $100s less. THe houses here just as overpriced as Sedona. All though a person at work just bought a $260,000 new house 2000 sq ft 2 stories here.
