My little guy is a Boston Terrior which also had the pit name in it. Boston pitbull terrior, I believe. He has such strong jaws. He must be related to the Pitbull somehow but looks a bit different. He is the most loving little guy there is. There are so many pit bulls in the shelter here. I visit them once and while and bring them cookies. They are all so sweet. There was one group of pits that were brought in a while back. I remember one called mama.
She was so sweet. They were there because of an investigation about an attack. They were eventually all put to sleep.
It's the people's fault, not the animal.

Ohh..boston terriers, I love them - love all terriers as they are so energetic, full of life & funny.
Pitbulls are really sweet animals, many swear they are great family dogs...the thing is people breed them for dog fights, as aggressive security dogs and even young guys wanted them for the supposedly cool tough macho man image about having a tough dog. I guess it made them feel more manly or something. Unfortunately, all that led to harming people & children & led to the ban here.

We love the cosmopolitan feel of Miami but we are not looking for the bustling traffic.... YOU ARE THINKING WE WANT IT ALL... quite frankly yes, we are hoping YOU also did and can make some suggestions.

Thank you much!

I don't think you can live over in Miami or anywhere's near there.
I know that we are allowed to have Pitbulls in Charlotte County which is on the Gulf Coast and about 2 hours from Miami.

Even if the county or city allows them, most communities will not. Period. If you are buying or renting a condo or apartment, I highly doubt you'll find any that allow that breed. If you buy, you will most likely find it difficult to insure your home. I speak to South FL, as I don't really know the rules in the rest of the state.

No. They are banned in Miami-Dade County.

They are a banned breed in that county. You can try...but I wouldn't risk it.
