Hi all, planning for our move to Florida and I have a really dumb question for those brits already there

Have any brits moving to Florida taken their flat screen telly's with them and found they work??

Not only is there a different voltage issue, but there is a different broadcast platform. We use NTSC and you use PAL. You can buy converters for both issues but I'm not sure it is worth it.

I don't think it would be worth it. I don't know the retail price of a new television over there, so I can't help you with that, but you can get used televisions in excellent condition down here for great prices. I'd just sell your UK one and use that money to get an American one.

True enough. Lots of cheap televisions in Florida, between the drug addicts and the unemployed.
