The report doesn't quantify exactly how it's worse than any other state. Las Vegas and Nevada got hit hard, as did Detroit/MI, and much of California. Even now, those states have higher unemployment rates than we do (MI is at 13.6%, CA at 12.2%, NV at 14.1%, while FL is at 11.6%).

As far as fall in home prices, Las Vegas/NV takes the cake:

Quote:
Las Vegas, the nation's leader with one in every 15 homes in some stage of foreclosure in the first half of the year. The inventory of homes on the Multiple Listing Service has crept upward this year, putting pressure on sellers to further reduce asking prices.
Sounds like another fluff piece to me...

Here is the report http://www.risep-fiu.org/wp-content/...orida-2010.pdf

It states (a number of times) that Florida is "one of the hardest hit states due to the vulnerability of our economy to the housing market crash."

Well, no duh! I could have told you that for half the government grant used to conduct that study.

Nowhere does it state that Florida has been hit "more than any other state in the nation."

Page six said "Only the state of Nevada saw a bigger increase in unemployment..."
Pages seventeen and eighteen are interesting- someone making $16.06 an hour is considered to be in the top 20% of wage earners. Kind of makes me feel like Donald Trump.
