I'm thinking this question has been asked. Is there a part of FL that has cooler summers? Or a part that cool weather comes earlier and the heat comes later?
I also am ready for better temps. This summer felt very long

I relocated from south Florida to Tampa bay area. South Florida usually starts to cool off about 2nd week of October. Here I noticed it started changing a few weeks ago (though I think that was early even for here).

As of this writing, where I used to live it is 85 degrees with 57% humidity. Here it is 79 degrees with 52% humidity. Six degrees of separation but a world apart. Of course, that is just a snapshot. But I've been here a year now & I do notice the difference, particularly at night in the summer. While winters here are colder, summer days are probably just as hot but here I can take a long walk at night without breaking into a sweat. A summer evening walk in south Florida & I'd wind up soaking wet every time.

Though the panhandle cools off sooner and stays that way longer, the trade-off is that it's actually slightly more humid in the summer than the peninsula is. We had three straight months this year where the bloody daytime dew point was typically over 80F this summer. And as a bouns, you get two weeks every year where it doesn't get up to 50F during the day.

Yesterday's lunch was eaten out on Tijuana Flat's sunny patio, and it was actually perfect for that kind of lounging around- not too hot, not too cool.

I'll take this dryer air. It's been a change from the humidity.

It's definitely a nice change, but I'll be celebrating when those are the highs.
