I'm sort of a to myself person who really enjoys fishing and the beach in general. Although I'm a young person, the bar/club thing really isn't necessary for someone like me. I'm interested in finding work and a low cost of coasting living.


What are some of the cheapest coastal areas in Florida? I heard that generally northern florida coastal areas are significantly cheaper-true?

Nice area, no beach unless you want to drive to Clearwater.

The Englewood area will give you beach - fishing - not so built up area that's can be affordable

You can see a cute house in Niceville, here 615 Cypress Dr, Niceville, FL, 32578 - MLS ID#494992 - Single Family Home real estate - REALTOR.com® (http://tinyurl.com/d6teo9 - broken link), and even less expensive housing in Galliver, which is several miles inland (but still close enough to get plenty of fishing done).

Oh gosh, these places look so good, I am tempted to move there myself. I love Missouri, but I love the beach even more!

Green Key Park has a beach. It's not big, but it's a beach, and in New Port Richey.

Panhandle and Big Bend areas, basically.

It depends if you want to be right on the water or 10 minutes from it.
In Hernando County you can find a small house for about $50,000 or a waterfront house for $145,000. You can get a gorgeous newer waterfront house for $250,000.
Some of these prices would include foreclosures.

There is a small beach here or about 50 minutes to Tarpon springs for a very nice beach.
Great fishing in the area also.

The Panhandle is reasonably affordable by national standards, but between some land scarcity issues and a lack of the kind of mass scale overbuilding you saw further south, the metro areas there tend to be more expensive than other parts of the state. For March 09, the median price of an existing single family home was $185K in Tallahassee, $181K in Ft. Walton Beach, and $163K in Panama City,

In contrast, those numbers were $135K for the Tampa Bay area, $118K for Fort Pierce-Port St. Lucie, $92K for Punta Gorda/Port Charlotte, and $88K for Fort Myers/Cape Coral.

Beaches?
Pine island in Hernando,
Hudson Beach in Pasco.
Green Key in NPR
Anclot Key in Holiday.
As for fishing? some of the best fishing in the state just off shore in the flats but you will need some kind of boat.
Pasco and Hernando counties west of highway 19 might be your best bet..
