I can't believe the officer just let you go. What did he say for you to do? Is this your first ticket? The reason I ask is cause do they suspend your license with just 1? Maybe they do if it is unpaid.

Just go to the court house and be prepared to spend at least $500 to get it taken care of, they will take a credit card. If you get pulled over with a suspended license they can arrest you. Take care of it before it gets bigger.

You got lucky... My brother in law had gotten a speeding ticket in Bartow (Polk County) in 2003 and didn't pay it. He had his license suspended and was pulled over again in 2004 in LaBelle (Glades County) and was arrested and was taken back to Polk County to jail.. His arrest record/photo is still on the Polk County website.. lol

It's not that simple.

Maybe the OP has figured this out, since she's not responded.

Well years ago when I was in high school in PA, I let my insurance lapse on my car. The police actually came to my house, saw my parked car, and repossessed my license plate! In order to get it back, I had to go to the magistrate and showed that I had renewed the insurance.

I told someone about this in Miami and they just burst out laughing. Like Miami cops have the time to go around and take off the plates of every car that isn't insured.....
