While we PAID $285,000 for the house, it was ASSESSED at $375,000. Can you understand that? In English, we paid LESS for our house than it was assessed at. Hey, if somebody wants to sell you their house for $5 nobody is stopping them, but you taxes will not be based on that $5!!!!

The point is you aren't paying $4k a year in taxes.

Yep, $1,000 in taxes on my $140,000 MANSION on the BEACH, paying my $500 in insurance too!!!!!!! Golly, gee, Florida is PARADISE and so CHEAP!!!!!!!
