Hi, I'm interested in possibly joining my best friend who currently lives in Gainesville so I'm interested in learning more about Gainesville such as nice places to visit, go swimming, things to do, etc. Also I generally work with kids through babysitting, substitute teaching, teaching kids game design camps, coaching soccer etc. I noticed however that there seems be much less babysitting opportunities in Gainesville and I was wondering why. Also I was wondering if anyone knew what kind of childcare opportunities there are. I currently live in NY so a key attraction for me is less cold in the winter in Florida. Also I'm somewhat conflicted about moving to Florida or with my brother and his fiancee in Orange County so any info to help my decision would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks so much for your time!

Gainesville is full of families and college students. I'm always hearing people can't find a good nanny here.

Since you don't have a job lined up, I'd encourage you to stay where you are. Since you have a best friend in Gainesville and a brother in Orlando, I can't help but wonder why you aren't asking them questions instead of a bunch of strangers. I can't imagine you can earn a living "babysitting" in Gainesville or Orlando where the cost of living is very high.
