A scuba diver died early Wednesday in about 10 feet of water off Cudjoe Key in the Lower Keys -- becoming the first dive-related death of the mini-lobster season -- the Monroe County Sheriff's Office said in an e-mailed alert on Wednesday.

Anyone taking advantage of this event?
The lobster mini-season kicked off at 12:01 a.m. Wednesday. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission reported no other problems in South Florida.

The two-day mini-season runs from 12:01 a.m. Wednesday to 11:59 p.m. Thursday.

The regular season runs from Aug. 6 to March 31.

The mini-season bag limit is six lobsters per person per day in Monroe County and Biscayne National Park and 12 per person in the rest of the state

Maine lobster is, oh, so much better. Sorry. I couldn't resist. You're talkin' 'bout lobster, now.

Or should I say, "Lobstah?"
