Define "Best school system" as you can put an unmotivated student in a good school system and he will fall short of success or you can put a motivated student in a less financed school system and he will do well.

You can find the info. On every schools' fcat score on the florida dept. Of ed. Website. The scores will tell you how the percent of students "at/above" grade level. Obviously you'd want a school where the majority of kids are at/above grade level. Do you know which region in florida you'd like to raise your family? North fl and the panhandle is very differnt from central florida and south florida. The col varies tremendously as well. Most importantly look for a safe neighborhood (as more then likely the kids will represent the school poplulation). Once you zero-in on a county, drive around the neighborhood at different hours to see the going-ons. I live in brevard county which is in central fl and there are lots of "A" schools in this county. Great schools website also has it's own "scoring" system. Schooldigger also has lists of schools in the state-

Sarasota county has a very good school system. It also has Pine View School, which is the number one school in FL and one of the top in the Nation.

You can go here to see how the schools in FL are rated: School Accountability Report .. and there are many opinions about the local schools here: www.greatschools.com

Overall the top school systems are St Johns County, Brevard County, Seminole County and Okaloosa County. If you're leaning toward east of Tallahassee and north of Orlando that leaves you with St Johns County. The northern part of the county has the highest ranked schools. Check out Ponte Vedra Beach and the planned communities of World Golf Village, Palencia and Nocatee.
