Documentary films shot in Florida
Florida based narrative TV series

Florida based documentary/reality shows and independent shorts

Many of those films may have been set in Florida but not shot here or had some scenes shot here but were not really Florida productions.
Not like films such as "Blood Feast" and "2000 maniacs" and "Deep Throat" to mention a few.

For example, India Jones and the temple of doom all they did was shoot a few scenes of alligators to double and crocodiles in Florida. All it took to make that list was to have any connection to Florida at all. Godfather 2 is another example from the list, maybe 5 minutes was in Florida.

Porkies, the Torch club, that my dad had an interest in and the Banyon club that was Mafia owned were the notorious places. Blaze Starr (use google) used to appear at the torch club and was an occasional house guest. Imagine a 9 year old boy sharing a bathroom with Blaze Starr. Maybe thats what wrong with me.

I also remember Bea Morley's joint and the polynesian restaurant just down the road that was owned by the Thornton brothers.

I am in the process of going through our possesions which include photos of various friends over the years.

I have a couple pictures of the girls and if Jeanne is still alive I would like to send them to either her or the girls. Need an address if you know.

Hope you do...

Thanks
Don

I am the president of the Oakland Park Historical Society. We are planning a Porky's Story Day September 15th. If you are in the vicinity, I would love for you to come share your memories, otherwise would love to communicate with you to learn more!
