Nope....he`s telling the truth. Sussex County New Jersey, just outside of Vernon. Been there a bunch of times, in fact....his homeowners insurance is between $650-$800 dollars per year, also much cheaper than Florida......
But I suppose he is lying to my face about that as well?.....I`ve known this man for years...he's not lying.
Not telling the truth is different than lying. Just ask any marine recruiter or DI.

It is like you asking me how much income tax I paid in 2010, and I told you I got a refund. Without more information, you will take I got a lot of credits and deduction because i made more than you. But in real, the reason I got a refund is that I paid a lot more tax in advance. I am just getting the refund on the extra that I paid out.
We just came back from a vacation in the Vero beach and sebastian the area and found it to be very nice with uncrowded beaches plenty of camping sites and busy malls. Also the people were more friendly than here in New Hampshire. Thats just what I saw and we liked it

Some people have good reasons to want to be someplace else.
I just don't see what is holding them up from going to where they will be happier.
However, bashing a place due to homesickness, lack of family, etc is ridiculous. Obviously, you are in the minority and simply use this forum to vent your frustrations. There is nothing that pleases you here. So many find it just the opposite.
NOT bashing it, just the miserable heat. If you were to look at other posts I have made about Estero where I live, it is a GREAT place. It's not all about homesickness though I am, also some people can't just up and leave, what a concept!!! Some of us will leave when we save enough money to be secure. Some of us are not gypsy's....

I guess you don't know of the miles and miles of bike trails, camping and hiking activities available here. You stated "Car insurance for me is HALF up there as opposed to FL, the ripoff insurance state". I showed facts that it was rated as #4 on the most costly insurance list. You said " Better health services up there. I can ride my bike during the summer months without nearly dying of heat exhaustion, Winter I cross country ski. Here summers suck, winter is the only good time. There I paid $45 a month for insurance for my car, here $137 a month, for less coverage. Crime here is 100 times worse in a month than my hometown has had in like 30 years. Fort Myers has about average of 5 murders a month. Northampton, 1 every 10 years if that". So everybody can see both sides of the coin. Not just a very unhappy
resident. Others need to see that people are happy and content here and those are the majority.

Where are you in N.H. where peole are that unfriendly.I just returned to N.H.after living full time in Florida for ten years and couldnt diissagree with you more. Vacations are a lot of fun. It was actually after a couple short "vacations" that we deceided to move to Florida.Thats really the only way to know if it's for you or not. I'm extremly grateful to be back home.

Since he told you his secure and can you share it? I (and every homeowners in NJ) would love to know how how to pay less in property tax. I am living in nice home with only 1/3 an acre and paying over 10k in tax. I don't even need to drop it to proportion to what his. Just drop to what he is paying, 8k and I will be very happy.

Have you been to COCOA??? It surely is a big ghetto, really bad area. Sorry, that IS the truth buddy.... It's a hole. Like half of Pit Myers. The lower half of Naples, a dump. Crime hills in Orlando, ghetto. Fort Pierce, a complete ghetto. Lehigh Acres is a hell hole, everyone who actually lives down here knows that. If people ask I will tell them or at least warn them, some people on this site will tell anyone. "Come on down, it's great everywhere", and I have seen people come here and say whoa! you were right.... It is a crappy area.

I havent been to coco in years. Yes, its a ghetto overall. Pine Hills hasnt changed, except for worsening, in over 20 years. I dont like S. FL at all, so dont go to Ft. Myers or Naples. I wouldn't care for anything south of Sarasota on this coast or south of Palm Bay on the east. However, would you live in Lowell, Chelsea, Lynn, most of Worcester? How about Dorchester, Somerville or Roxbury? You can't just cherry pick cities and towns in a state and then define the entire state by those places.
So why bash the entire state over a few areas that suck?
I am going to stand by the information I read on COL and car insurance in MA. Its higher. Period. Of course car insurance rates vary depending on the density of the population of a city. Bigger cities, higher rates.
As far as temps go, it was 81 in Boston today and 89 in Tampa. Not much of a difference. But I like warm weather as opposed to cold weather any day. I spent enough of my life with freezing ears, cold nose and stepping in slush in NYC. I prefer stepping out to sunshine and clear skies.
It is clear that you don't like it in FL, but it apparently took you a long time to realize the fact that its hot here in the summer. I mean you've been here a while. I would have booked out as soon as I realized the situation was not to my liking. After all, FL is the most southern state in the union.
So, just like the rest of the southern portion of the U.S. its hot in the summer and quite nice in the winter/spring/fall, at least for me.
So why bash the entire state over a few areas that suck?
Like I said, if someone is going to come up with blanket statements about an entire state, I, for one, will rebutt those statements as being untrue and virtually comical.
