Hi, we're looking for our next home and looking at Lake Mary and Mt Dora. Any pros and cons for a reasonable neighborhood and homes around $170K.

I don't live there and those who do may have a lot more details both pro and con; but I have been to Mt Dora many times and it is really nice.

location and size is the glaring difference. Mt. Dora is a quaint little town hidden off 441 which although is a major road, is a sleepy scenic highway when it gets to Mt. Dora. Lake Mary is suburb of Orlando just of I4, the largest and busiest corridor in Central Florida. Pros and cons are what you expect, shorter distances, more convenience in Lake Mary compared to small town charm but longer commutes in Mt. Dora
