Please, I'm creating this particular thread for those of us who love it here. Only post positive thoughts. There are plenty of negative threads to post in if you're feeling so inclined.
Let's here it for Florida!

It's either rose colored glasses or an image of hell...or is it? Before I contribute, what do YOU think of Florida?

P.S-I kind of like it.

I love it here, I've lived here for 20 years. I was raised in an affluent Connecticut town, so I know what good is, and this is good.
Of course, I,m lucky enough to live in the Keys. We have beautiful reefs, great fishing, 80 degree winter temps, great fun loving people, low taxes, no state income tax. and I could go on and on...

Well, your perception is a little different than the rest of us, but you summed up the main positives that are state wide, the rest of the state must be grouped by region really...

Rose colored glasses are far better than the black ones many people here wear.

Hey, I like it here, I am just saying that we ought to group the positives by region, because each region has its own distinct positives . You covered the positives that apply state wide.

I agree, every region of Florida has something positive. Take Lakeland for instance, it has the largest collection of Frank Lloyd Wright builings in the entire US

Anyway, Fort Lauderdale area

-Culturally diverse in a good way
-Decent highway infrastructure/ smooth roads
-Beautiful tropical foliage
-Availability of some of America's safest suburbs
-Great shopping and dining
-Beautiful beaches
-Culture/museums/music

I don't "love" it here, but the good is outweighing the bad for me, and I'm NOT rich.

Fort Lauderdale is a beautiful city, Las Olas blvd...terrific, if you have a boat, a rather quick trip over to the Bahamas.
