I am a single mom/young Grandma. Currently living in Iowa. Recentley separated and looking to move to Florida for a fresh start. We visit Florida every year, but stick to the tourist sites. We have stayed in the Fort Lauderdale area at The Pelican Grand and The Hardrock in Hollywood. Also visited Cocoa Beach and many times Orlando. The kids and I love everyplace we have been, but we honestley have not ventured out too much. While in Cocoa Beach we went to a local skateboard park and the other kids seemed very nice.
Looking for honest opinions of cities and areas. I have thought about the Cape Coral area or The Treasure Coast. Schools are very important and crime as well.Would like to live in an area with a good skateboard park and not too bad of a drive to the beach as well(an hour?).
I will be renting and would like to pay around 900 a month. Yes I know...not much, but like I said, I am a single mom with 2 teens and a new baby.
Any advice on these places or other sugestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Check out the northern Saint Johns County community of Ponte Vedra which is just south of Jacksonville and north of St Augustine. It is among the top 5 school districts in the state, is very safe, 10-15 minutes to beautiful Ponte Vedra Beach, and is close to two major skateparks. The Oaks at St Johns has three bedroom apartments renting for $840 per month.
