so, i'm researching a potential move from canada to us and need to know about elementary and high school educational systems in Florida.

in canada, if you want an exceptional education you usually have to go to a private school. Though there are some good public and catholic schools, private schools have lower student teacher ratio and better academics. Is this the same in Florida?

Also, in Canada, there is a public school board (publicly funded), a separate school board (for catholics also publicly funded), and private. Looks like in the states there is only a public board and then everything else is private. Is this correct? As well what is charter, is that the same as private?

If my daughter wants to go to a private university is a private high school recommended?

Also what kind of cost is involved with private. In Toronto it runs about 10-15 thousand a year.

Thanks any advice is useful
