96% clean.

I don't expect a bunch of poor women with kids to get high personally.

But glad to see Rick scum got a nice sized check for his efforts.

Right...this "long term" study hasn't proved much yet. It's been a month, give it time.

^Oh I'm sure welfare recipients were just being careful this first month, and will be back to being druggies soon. Actually I have to hand it to Rick Scott if people actually quit doing drugs in order to pass his tests, however I know he was literally banking on the fact that he could make up for the added cost of drug testing by booting large percentages of people off welfare each month. Good job Scotty, you have officially made the administration of welfare even more expensive than it already is!!!!! LMFAO

Anything that helps take away the motivation to leech off of society is probably a good thing.

..and I guess we have successfully removed 4% of Florida's leeches from the freeloader list?

I can think of 49 other states that could use a guy like Scott.

They've tried this before and it turned out to be a huge money/time waster.

Perhaps we could drug test the CEOs who take our corporate welfare while we are at it? After all they get more money than any welfare momma could ever dream of. Right Rick?

So you're suggesting people will be less motivated to leech off of society if they have to take drug tests? Well after these initial results, I think your reasoning is a little off. Only time will tell, but it's my suspicion that people wishing to use and scam the system will just switch to much more harmful substances with shorter turnaround times like alcohol, cocaine, etc, and not less harmful substances like cannabis which stays in your system for months. I'd be interested to see how many of the 4% tested positive for THC, simply for curiosity's sake.

AMEN. If people knew how much we were dolling out in terms of corporate welfare, the folks on medicaid, food stamps, and welfare would be an afterthought.
