Thank you so much Belle 540i. Quite some insight and most helpful. We could afford a pricing area of 200k-250k range. But as you said, renting will give the feel for the area. Still, you have given me a idea on homes I thought were better, due to the name I guess. Since it's looks near to cattleridge(I google earth it), thought it to be ok for buying.

I live in Sarasota Gulf Club neighborhood. We have 8 houses for sale on my street alone. The prices are $300+, but those are on my street. I haven't walked around neighborhood and can't tell exactly what houses are selling elsewhere in my area. But i love this area, we live right on the golf course, it's quiet and crime free. I'm not a beach goer, so i can care less how far from the beach i live, i'll say good 15-20 minute drive.
Next good area is Bent Tree (newer one), but it will be more pricey as far as housing. Lake Sarasota seems to be ran down and doesn't looks very good, newer sections are more appealing. Prices are still holding up there! Do you want house or a condo? I don't believe there are many condos in nearby neighborhoods. We have few homes for rent as well in my neighborhood, don't know the rates though.

We want a house. And 300+ sounds good if it's like you describe. It's ok a 15-20 minute ride to beach too. We just want quality of life. Nice neighbors, safe living.

You can check out this website, it's our community HOA site, fees are $50.00 per year, or you don't have to join if you don't want.

If you want closer to the beach, look at Gulf Gate area or Siesta, housing will be more expensive of course near Siesta.

What does your husband do for 100K?
Guess What? We moved to Savannah, Georgia! No job, though. I know, I know...
Thanks for all good input

That part of Ga. is really very nice, I did several concerts there a couple of years ago, I especially liked the cobblestone roads, very quaint.

Good luck on your move and who knows maybe FL will be in your future someday.

Hello again,
Now we are in Alton, Ill. The places you have to go for a job. Nothing in Savannah. Now we're looking to Florida again! This is too inland for us.
So you were right Songbird.
