Hello all,

I'm moving to southern FL in late June (I know I'm starting to research early) and I'm not sure what area to start looking in. I'll be working in Weston, FL and I want to leave within 3-4 blocks of the beach in a safe area. Here is what I'm looking for:

1. Safe place to live and be comfortable walking the dog after dark alone.
2. Be within 3-4 blocks of the beach for around 1,000,000. It doesn't have to be huge, but does have to be nice (2-3 bedrooms, 2 bath).
3. Be reasonably close to Weston (I know it isn't that close to the beach but I'd like to be as close as possible in a safe area).
4. It would be nice to have a place where I can inline skate or go biking.

Thanks for your help in advance, I really appreciate it!

South Florida native here (grew up in Hollywood)...Check out the extreme south end of Fort Lauderdale Beach, the buildings at 2000/2100/2200 South Ocean Drive have some nice units in your price range that are in a good area off the commercial strip and in a fairly quiet, safe area. A bit inland check out 2009 Marietta Drive (Ft Lauderdale), an amazing bargain at 675K as a private home with pool. Further south look at the listings at 312 Fillmore Street or 335 Monroe Street (single family homes) in Hollywood which is a nice, laidback/less-touristy area. The Hollywood Boardwalk is famous for inline skating (and biking). Good luck! http://www.visithollywoodfl.org/holl...broadwalk.aspx

*** Oops, just noticed the June reference. Oh well, at least you'll have some ideas.
