I know they're like 70 miles apart, but is Miami noticeably warmer than West Palm?

I used to have a friend that would say "I cant live anywhere north ofn west palm because it's too cold"

I don't think there's a noticeable difference until you travel from about Miami to Tampa or north. Miami is usually 10 degrees warmer than Orlando in the Winter, 15-20 degrees warmer of Gainesville/Jacksonville and considerably warmer than Tallahassee or the Panhandle. Keep in mind Florida is a very long state so weather changes considerably from one area to another, but WPB to MIA, not so much.

Not a huge difference but I think Miami gets more rain and will be a little bit warmer in the winter 1-2 degrees at most. Summer temps across the state are around the same.

Got a smart phone? Get the weather icon/app and input both cities. Within a few days you will realize there is about a 1-2 degree difference between the two. Both are coastal cities and 70 miles is essentially an hour apart. Miami may feel more tropical from all the 3rd world residents that live there!

I've lived in both and it is different during the coldest periods. When we had the frost 2 or 3 years back, the temperatures were markedly cooler late into the evening, its especially more pronounced in less developed areas out west and to the north of the county in Palm Beach. Most of the year I would say there is no difference but Miami is several degrees warmer during very cold snaps. Used to be that Lake Worth was considered the dividing line between the sub-tropical temps but that was long ago. Once you get north of Stuart though, the temps drop considerably in the wee hours.

yes, when i would watch the 11 oclock news and they would do the weather portion I would always notice, during the winter months Miami would be several degrees warmer and would always get jealous because I would be like "ugh, I wouldnt be this cold if I were in Miami"

but i got through it....I managed.

Depends what part of Miami vs Palm Beach but in my experience Miami is absolutely more Tropical in feel especially if you drive down to Eureka/Cutler Bay/Caribbean area.
