I have a permit but recently sat in on a class at Bass pro shops. There were 40 people taking the class. They give this class three times a week and judging from the turn out it looks like a lot of people want concealed carry permits. I guess if you expand that figure state wide that is a lot of people potentially walking around with guns.

One problem is, most of those guns that the gangbangers have were one time bought legally. Then they end up in someones night stand drawer or under a car seat an get stolen.

I am not drawing any conclusions or have any thoughts one way or another. I just found it surprising how many people were there. It is not free the course is like $95.00 plus another $117.00 for the permit. I have to assume these people are serious and not just killing time. From what I saw maybe 4 in the class had ever fired a gun before.

I just don't see most of them actually getting the proper training and putting in the time on a range for the gun to be of any real value. I am all for people having the right to carry a gun, a gun has twice saved my life, but the Florida requirements are just a bit low I my opinion.

u could be right. good insight into the average gun owner.
3 critical elements for a weapon, any weapon, to be useful
volition, training and possession, unless u got all 3-- its useless.
and most dont have a clue what happens after u use it, they think they know the penal code, and maybe do,
but dont have a clue what actually happens in a court after u shoot that gangbanger.
