Jaust,

Hi, I have seen Canyon Lakes and the model center. When this area was first being built we looked at it. We were looking "down the road" in Lake Worth at Isola Bella Estates(very beautiful, imo). The houses in Canyon Lakes were broken up into two sectrions, the estates area and "regular" homes. They were very pretty homes and most were very large homes. I don't know much about the Boynton schools, are you sure they are Boynton and not Lake Worth? I ask this because Canyon Lakes is so close to Lake Worth. Also, from always checking the real estate in these areas I have noticed that there are very many vacant and never lived in homes in Canyon Lakes. Let me know what you find out if you don't mind. It seems to me that good deals could be made in that sub-division. Best of Luck!! Connie

This was a community developed in the peak of the buying frenzy. Many people buying for obscene prices. Homes worth maybe 300K selling for near 600K. Unsavy investors were purchasing and well now they are stuck with houses that are not worth near what they paid. Therefore you have a hodgepodge of vacant homes and foreclosures waiting to happen. Someone I know bought one of the those cookie cutter houses for 700K. GL homes has a few people whom ran out on there deposits and are selling those homes for the mid 400's. Leaving people with 700k homes that can be had for the 400's now. Really not a good situation for the homeowners in the community.

I live in Boynton ... friend of mine bought in there & by the time he closed house was worth over 100K less than what he paid ... sad situation there but honestly those homes were never worth that original asking price.
Also homes are basically 0 lot lines. Canyon is considered Boynton but as far as schools go there is a pocket on Jog road just north of Hypoluxo considered Lake Worth that falls into a excellent school district .. not sure about boynton schools , once again you just have to be fortunate as to what zone you fall in & they can rezone at any time. Remember when a school gets a rating (a , b . c & so on) its just the FCAT scores , has nothing to do with how safe a school is etc.
