Any Windsurfers about? I'd like to learn Windsurfing and haven't been able to find anything but regular surfing and kiteboarding. I'm in Orlando so preferably in Daytona/Cocoa/New Smyrna/Melbourne area. If there's something in Ft. Pierce/PSL area I could probably make that happen too.

Any names for schools or rental places would be really great!

Thanks,
Ender.

Lightbulb Daytona Beach Area

Here's where I'd start for more info about the Daytona Beach area:
Windsurfing

The Halifax River (Intracoastal) in Daytona Beach is awesome!

lol called them, they referred me to a different place. I had already looked at the other places website and thought it was in Ft Myers. Turns out their website was just designed by some 'Ft Myers Web Design' and they're in Merritt Island.

Sweet! Thanks a bunch dewd.

For anyone interested the place that does the classes is Calema.

I guess if this was a legitimate thread, you would have actually followed the original link I posted -- had nothing to do with Ft Myers if you simply selected "contact" info at the top of the page!

This would have given you the following info:
Sandy Point Progressive Sports
3090 S. Ridgewood Ave.
S. Daytona, FL 32119
Phone: 386-756-7564

As I'm aware of several other businesses in the Daytona Beach area that specialize in Windsurfing (but couldn't find links or contact info to post on the fly), it's pretty obvious what this was really all about. I also haven't been to this business in a few years for supplies to know if they're still open in this economy either. They also specialize in Sailboarding, which was your OP -- NOT SUP, which is more trendy now and more available as well.

Good luck to you and your friends in business at Calema on Merritt Island!

Also, if you do contact Sandy Point, you can launch at Bethune Point Park at the end of Belleview AVE in downtown Daytona Beach, as they have parking and a launch area for boarding.

Calm down there buddy I don't think you follow me, I probably used too many pronouns.

I DID go to your link, I called Sandy Point. They rent Windsurfing Boards but don't do classes. They referred me to the Calema website.

I had been to the Calema website before but thought it was in Ft Myers because if you look at their site on the bottom it says "Ft Myers Web Development" but since Sandy Point said they were in Cocoa I called anyways. Calema does do classes.

Hello EndersDrift,
I know this thread is way too old but I'm looking for people from Orlando interested in windsurfing.
I'm looking into buying a equipment for myself. I went once to Calema by Banana River and was very nice!
If you or any people are still interested in windsurfing please contact me so maybe we can plan on sailing together. It would be fun!
Andre
