I was born in the Jacksonvill area and my family moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico when I was 4 years old. I am an outdoor person and NM just doesn't offer what I need. My mom doesn't like it either and wants to move back to Florida. Anyways, I would love to live in an area with lakes nearby. I am hugely into freshwater bass fishing and golfing.

Somewhere with a mall, walmart, movie theater, and under $150,000 for a decent 3 bedroom house in a good neighborhood.

I've only checked out Haines City, Kissimmee, and Lakeland. Are these areas nice? I'm open to any and all suggestions.

Lakeland will fulfill all your needs - lots of great fishing there ( so many nice lakes!) and great deals on homes. Check it out further, we lived there and I recommend it for what you are looking for.

Cape Coral can be perfect or a nightmare depending on your situation.

Check out the CC forum.

Do you or your mother need to work?

Yes, we would both need to find places to work. I'll check out CC.

I'm really liking Lakeland from what I've read and seen about it. It doesn't hurt that it's surrounded by lakes either

Thanks for the responses. Anyone else have a suggestion? Somewhere we wouldn't have to worry about burglars..

Find employment first, housing second.

There are plenty of areas that will meet your needs. Don't underestimate the employment situation.

What kind of work are you looking for?
