Daytona Beach. Hands down, no contast. I love NASCAR & so the race track is an awesome draw to me. I love the fact that it's right in the middle of town, acroos the street from the mall, next door to the airport & litterally like 5 miles straight down the street to the beach.

I know, I know, living there is nothing like being on vacation & I am okay with that. Just knowing that I could drive by the ocean whenever the mood strikes me is enough for me. And please don't tell me about the heat & humidity because here in west TN there is almost no difference in the summer to the heat & humidity there & here. I know this because I have spent the last 5 4th of Julys in Daytona. And in a couple of occassions TN was actually hotter then Daytona.

I love Daytona Beach so much that as soon as I get a chance to move there I am there & whoever wants it can have Tennessee.

St. Augustine was awesome. I lived there for 2 years, going to school there. It never really got too hot for my liking, as we were near the ocean so got that nice breeze. The town is small and touristy yet warm and welcoming. Downtown is a blast to shop or grab a drink and Flagler is gorgeous. 2 hours from Orlando, hour from Daytona Beach, hour from Jacksonville. Overall, great experience and I can't wait to return!

We/You can live anyplace in Florida! -- Go for it, if that is what you want. We did about 40-years ago and have since lived in Tampa, Kissimmee/Orlando, Melbourne/Satellite Beach and now Destin.

We've enjoyed every place we've been, but, are particularly fond of living on the water. (Why live 'near the beach' if you can live 'on the beach'). Every place has decent areas for housing, schools, shopping, entertainment --- and not so attractive areas (pretty much like everywhere else). There is an average 20-25-degree temperature difference (winter) between South (Miami/keys) and North (Jacksonville/Tallahassee).... but, no snow, ice or looong cold spells. There are also many large population centers with divergent demographics, depending on what you are looking for.

If you are simply looking for a nice place with sun, palm trees, sand/beach and a great climate --- you can practically cover your eyes and 'point' at a map of Florida. If, however, you have other interests (eg; job, kids, financial, proximity, access to ?) then, you need to look a little deeper and ask more specific questions.

A nice house along East Lake Toho or Ponce Inlet would be fine by me!

Gainesville where I lived almost 30 years ago. Not as HUMID and HOT as Naples. No BEACHES = NO SNOWBIRDS. College town not as CONSERVATIVE as Naples.

See? It isn't JUST weather.

Where I live right now - Sarasota/Bradenton - just perfect for me and my hubby, everything we want is here. Second is St. Pete. For us, it just doesn't get any better.
