Do a search for "land for sale in Florida" or “rural land for sale in Florida”. Anyone of the search engines will support this search. Bottom line, cheaper land is outside the major cities. Hopes this help.

Clewiston, FL has 10+ acre parcels, plus it is a small upcoming town that is 45 minutes from everything Fort Myers, Fort Lauderdale & Palm Beach. It is located in the southwest tip of Lake Okeechobee & has great trout fishing & headquarters to US Sugar Corp. [cut]

Needless, to say we have nothing left here where I'm at ...if one wants to build we have to buy a lot with a house on it, tear it down & rebuild. No leg room here. Tiny lots (that used to be part of a home's yard) adjacent to homes are a hot item. Hardly any left and sold at premium prices. You guys should see the 2 story McMansion being built in front of my house & another in the back of that one. They look disproportioned...huge house in a tiny lot, looks ridiculous. To think the 2/2 1940's home, in front of me, there had a beautiful lot with orange, lime, 2 avocado trees & lots of palm trees. These people came & whacked house & all...I truly miss my natural environment which is less & less each day, at least down here.
Back to the question...The Redlands (further south from Miami), has acreage...though, it's more expensive than further up North.

Florida's got a ton of rural land left. There's no shortage of rural or agricultural land in Florida. The media reports that Florida is running out of land. What a bunch of hogwash! What we are running out of is land that developers can easily subdivide into large "house farms" (ie. 300 1/4 acre cookie cutter homes). When developers run out of land they can divide into 1/4 acre lots it becomes un-economic to build water/sewer facilities and develop such subdivisions.

Try running water and sewer lines to 1 acre lots in the middle of nowhere - can't be done! So, they try to build 1 acre lots with septic and well systems - not too many people around here want to maintian a well. When counties won't rezone to anything less than 1 unit to 5 acres, or 1 unit to 10 acres, developers have no interest. The land only has a value of about $15,000 / acre, so if you don't mind well and septic you can buy 10 acres in the middle of nowhere Florida for about $150,000, build a $100,000 house on it and have a nice 3/2 well, septic on 10 lush green acres.

Based on the feedback, the north part of the state is the best deal for affordable land...

Sounds good to me...though, I'd need more info/learn on how to deal with wells...before I get to point B.

Even here in expensive Coral Gables we have guess what???? Septic tanks! cause this city is old..our water bill is only like $35-40 which is for 3 months ..1 famly member that lives in the more affordable Kendall area (in a townhouse/water not included with HOA) pays $100 to $120 every 3 months.

In most cases there's not much to it. You pay someone to drill the well and hook up a pump...that's the end of it, free water. In many places in FL you'll have high iron, sulfer, hard water, whatever...in this case you hook up a water softner. It's certainly nothing to be wary of though.
