Yep, 100k at least. With the right attitude and real expectations you will do fine.

It sounds like you are used to living on relatively low wages. If that is true it is easier to live on low wages in Hollywood or Hallandale than Brooklyn (I grew up on LI). The schools here are not great, but they are no worse than the schools in Brooklyn. The rough neighborhoods here are rough but it sounds like you are pretty streetwise.
I would not normally say to move here without a job but I think that for you it might work out. Especially if you have family to help you get started.
momma bear i used to own a house for 8 years and i lost it 4 years ago do to the recession and i also lost my great great job 5 years , so no im not used to low wages. i florida wages are different but so is the cost of leaving. i will adjust i know how. lol im a house person im not streetwise trust me i be afraid to leave the house sometimes i just dont let them know. my family is very supportive because they know am a fighter. im bless to have the help they are willing to give me. im sure i will make it > i just want different and since i have family there and usually spend 2 months on vacation there i just figure why not just stay there. thank you for your input and yopur wishes.
There are tons of jobs everywhere that aren't exactly what you want. They are ether embarrassing, too physical, or at the wrong time. Usually Coca-Cola is hiring, if you like lifting 50 lbs repeatedly all day. The city always has some crappy jobs, but the key is both of those should get you healthcare if you can get full-time.
yes RMD i will be living with my family. i have done billing and coding at a dr. office. i also booked surgerys for another dr. office. i have done the hha thing, im currently an spanish interpreter. i have done a few things in life and i still want to back to school maybe online. so im willing to do whatever to provide for my babies. nyc is just too much and too fast for my kids.
The thing you have going for you is you have housing lined up, at least initially.
You have an optimistic outlook and determination which is good, but that won't pay the bills.
I know you want all positive comments, but take a look at this thread. I'm trying to be helpful here and not harsh. This doesn't fit you exactly but it has some common points.
You are right RMD this video doesn't fit me exactly. Im not moving because of the weather and i do have money saved plus i have job skills. however i get your point RMD I know it won't be easy. I dont think you are harsh, thank you for your input.

You do have some job skills, which is good, but I need to add some reality here:
The ones you have listed are not for jobs you could support a family on. The next hurdle is actually getting a job. Don't kid yourself, the job market is THAT bad.
As a real life example, my daughter is in her mid twenties and lived here all her life. She searched for months and months for any job-retail or serving, both of which she has experience in. She has no kids and no major bills either. She finally found a security guard job paying $9 something an hour. It was "part time" meaning full time hours but no benefits.
The work culture/ethics is radically different in Florida compared to the NE, not to mention the payscales.
Your strongest point is you have family there. What is their advice? Are they retired? What do they think of you moving here?
Please keep posting your progress. It helps for the next person that comes here asking.
