Beaches were never that big of a deal to me (that's the wife's thing). We haven't been to one since September or so. I prefer mountains. Hope to be in them one day.

I still love them. And I'm sure people in the other 49 states would gladly trade places with anybody down here. I love being out there in the water, whether it be a jetski, on a boat, parasailing, or fishing on the shore. I'll take that any day over urban hell.

I like the west coast beaches in Florida. Much more relaxed (fewer monster waves and no beach driving). I doubt I will ever go to the beach in the east coast of FL again.

I like to get motel on the beach, and then hit the beach early in the AM , and then the pool later. The beach can be pretty hot these days and the sun feels like it's burning my skin off. We all got burned last time, even with heavy sun block on. Then there is the price of the beachfront motels... I wonder how anyone can afford it these days. We can't, so I guess that one trip we had in Summer 2010 is going to be it for a long time.

That's a pretty good description of the beaches around here.

most beaches now require pay to park. good luck finding a space from Palm Beach to Homestead, as with all the influx of new people, immigrants and poor people, parking is such a pita. 1. searching for a space. 2. paying $10 to park. 3. now-a-days, people at the beach are lower class poor people.

Well, if you don't like the beach, don't go. Where I go it's beautiful and would be happy to have it to myself. There is no nature inside a mall.

I'll take that over over pesticide/chemical runoff in our lakes/rivers, not to mention the amoeba.

+1......

Beaches are fine but there are many other outdoor activities as well!

My mall has indoor planters, waterfalls and some stores even sell Birkenstocks! Don't get me started on all the natural things offered at GNC!

My daughters go to the beach any chance they get, my son not that much. I was never much of a beach person to begin with and was not why I moved here.
There is never a shortage of beach goers at pretty much any beach though.
