Port St. Lucie is SOUTHERN Florida (what I consider the northern boundary of Southern Florida, with Indian River starting "Central" Florida) .... not the "South Florida" metro which most people consider to be Palm Beach, Broward and Dade Counties.

St. Lucie and Martin county are part of the West Palm media market.

I never really think of the geographic descriptors for the west coast of Florida... except to say, "Tampa area".... and everything else over there is just "the west coast" until you get to the panhandle, lol!

How do you figure it's silly? How far do you figure Sebastian is from West Palm? Anyway, with att I get West Palm as our local stations, and they include Indian River County in their coverage. I'm not disputing the OP, just offering observations. Really, I don't care about what market I'm in, or which St.Lucie is in. Just debating.

According to google, it's an hour and 45 minutes to wpb. I am disputing the OP. Psl isn't south FL. It is the treasure coast

Sebastian to Orlando, fastest route, 95.73 miles- 1:35
Sebastian to West Palm, fastest route, 93.85 miles- 1:34

As per Mapquest and several trips to both MCO and PBI

Fine. Let's agree that it's equally distant to both places, and that you could easily have Orlando for your local stations as much as WPB.

I do believe that starting with Sebastian on down to PSL, it really should be considered the "treasure coast" or the "equally far from large central FL and south FL cities" area. Definitely not SFL

I am from Jupiter, and even including Jupiter in the "south Florida" metro is a stretch, IMO. St Lucie? No, it's too distant from Miami.

I can agree with that. Now that we've got that out of the way..... What's the advantage for PSL being included in SFL?

I'm making the distinction between "Southern" Florida, and "South Florida"...

I'm not saying PSL is "South Florida" --- but Port St. Lucie is not quite north enough to be "Central" Florida, and Orlando has no influence in the city --- in terms of media, etc.

Can you get the Orlando newspapers in Sebastian?
