Learn what? It's an opinion which any answer in this thread will be mainly. It just happens to be one that a lot I data and city rankings agree with.

Learn that what you have is an opinion, not fact, and many on C-D feel differently. That's how opinions work

Never said it was a fact. Things such as a higher educated population are facts though.

So highly-educated in fact, they voted to ban same-sex marriage.

RTP is very liberal. Asheville is probably most liberal city in southeast. Much of the other areas of the state ate rural and redneck.

Obama did win NC despite all of that also.

Your statewide comment really has nothing to do with Raleigh which is what I'm posting about.

So they're not educated because they believe marriage should be between a man and a woman ? Gimme a break ...

Where do you get this information? Tampa, North/Central Florida and even parts of S. FL seem way more redneck and intolerant than most of NC.

They already banned it before. This was to put it in the constitution and essentially ban anything equivalent to marriage like same-sex unions.

I have no issue with marriage between a man and a woman, but there's no reason why there can't be same-sex unions with the exact same legal protections for same sex couples. Doesn't fit with the "progressive, educated" image of NC to me.
