I'd vote for Atlantic Beach. Nice people largely, a beach/coastal atmosphere, fairly safe and an easy 10 mile commute to the University of North Florida.

Perfect Florida Community is tough. I've spent most of my life in St. Pete and it meets most of your criteria but crime is pretty high here. One of the nicest areas I lived in was around Fernandina Beach/Amelia Island but that was years ago when it was affordable.

Its hard to say..

I really liked the Keys when i visited.. I liked Miami for its beautiful skyline, tropical feel, and big city amenities.

I also liked Sarasota when I was there..

St Pete is nice.. Pinellas county in general.

So many nice places in florida.

I live in Tallahassee, and its my hometown..

I could probably move to many places in florida and be content tho.

I like gainesville, i like jacksonville.... I like pretty much all of florida.

Fernandina is bad enough where it is getting too expensive for the locals...

I'm not surprised. I probably wouldn't recognize it any more.

Sarasota (where I currently live)

St. Pete (where I would live if I didn't live in Sarasota)

St. Augustine - cute town that I enjoy visiting.

Vaughn, I grew up in St. Pete and would love to move back but the incredible amount of people, the lack of normal ammenties like a decent mall, and the crime with did I say too many people?! I can't even breathe thinking of moving back...I was in Palm Harbor last week and couldn't wait to get out of the area. I think one of the worst things the county has done was allowing the strip and xxx bars. It all looks so trashy these days and very sad. The old NE where I grew up is still wonderful but I don't want to stay on the island alllllll the time.
