Great idea! Besides the inconvenient fact that they're not actually hiring in most cases, or that there aren't any "milk farms" in the immediate Orlando area. With that being the case are you proposing we bus people out to labor camps when unable to find work and break up family units because we can't bear to help fellow citizens and would rather fund our military exercises in Iraq and Afghanistan? I just love it when Conservatives shriek about socialism when it comes to a Democratic solution for helping those less fortunate but yet manage to haul out actual socialist, communist or even dictatorship-like ""solutions" to the same problems. It's completely mystifying to me as to why anyone not in the top 1% would have any allegiance whatsoever for these clowns.

Not necessarily, especially if government welfare/entitlement programs are expanded to a record number of people. It's easier for some to just collect their 99 weeks rather than go do some hard labor on a farm, or be a cashier at walmart.

The program is only expanded and extended when the unemployment level is high and persistent. Your links pertain to the most severe recession since the great depression. I know you understand that.....

I hope you understand that jobs still exist, even now. it's just a question of having the proper qualifications or the desire to do them

Back in 09, dairy workers were making over eleven an hour. They still can't find enough legal labor

I think all milk and dairy in Florida is trucked in from Georgia. I thought all the local dairies closed backk in the 80s. Maybe I am wrong, but seem to remember reading that somewhere.
Even if a person works it does not mean they can afford to get insurance offered by their store or McDonald's etc. They usually only offer decent insurance to their full timers and offer Starbridge to all part timers. When my husband got hurt and lost his job when he had his 8 surgeries, we lost our insurance. So it is not always people unwilling to work. You might be surprised at the 50-65 year old women working without insurance because their husbands retired and went on medi-care and supplemental, too.
Anyway I got Starbridge because I was working part time. First thing I got was the card from them saying....We are not an insurance just a discount at doctors and hospitals. Every doctor I go to and the local hospital were listed in the program but when I called, they said they did not accept....So I was stuck for a year. paid over $400 a month that I could not get out of for absolutely nothing since no one accepted it. What a waste.

There will have to be answer to this question, because more and more people will be in that situation as time goes on. Are we prepared to witness, or experience, zero health care for the poor in America?

You aren't addressing the subject. You just keep going back to your statement that there are plenty of jobs around. Again, I ask you, why is it that the unemployment number doesn't go down and stabilize? Do you think the work ethic has changed? Do you think people are more willing to give up their homes and break up their families to be taken care of by the government? Your reasoning is way too simplistic.

Good point, and it actually indicates the unemployment/underemployment rate is rising since the government stops counting those who have run through their Unemployment Compensation, those who work part-time instead of full-time (at a fraction of their old salary) and those who have simply given up.

Nobody minds helping people that are truly down on their luck and just need a hand for a short time. The problem is the excessive abuse. In my job, i often deal with people in the lower economic segment of society, manyof which receive subsides. If I were to guess, I would say less than 15% of the people receiving entitlements deserve and/or appreciate them.
My cousin's boyfriend, a 50 yr old white guy, brags about the fact that he receives 3 disability checks. How the hell do you get disabled 3 times?
I was watching judge Judy the other day(I'm an intellectual), and the man claimed he was on disability. Judy asked him what for. He stated because he has asthma. Asthma?, you don't Have to work in a hay field. Plenty of people with asthma work.
If we could get rid of the fraud and abuse, I would have no trouble helping those in need.
