My husband and I are thinking of relocating to Pace. FL. I haven't seen this question posted on the forum:

Can you smell the papermills from Cantonment in Pace? If so, how bad is the smell?

I will be investigating air and water quality there as well. Any and all informaton would be greatly apreciated.

I drive through Cantonment a lot, and sometimes you can't even smell it right there. I doubt it's ever a problem in Pace, but I wouldn't know for sure.

I'm not a big fan of Pace. It's much too cookie-cutter for me. I prefer Milton. It has its own downtown and just has more character. But, if you'll be commuting to Pensacola, then being in Milton can definitely add some time.

My address is Cantonment. I actually live a few miles south. I might smell it 2 of every ten days. I guess it depends on which way the wind is blowing. It doesn't bother me. The first couple of times I smelled it I thought somebody in the neighborhood was grilling sausage. That's what it smells like to me.
