It's a golden opportunity! You too can make an investment in an asset that will cost you at least 2% of its value per year to maintain, with no guarantee of appreciation, in fact it will decline at least 3% in the comming years! You will have significant risk, with little reward. Three words for you, Florida Real Estate.

Why would you think an asset should not cost anything to maintain or should not decrease in value?

Anything you own is an asset, how many of your posessions are increasing in value right now?

Very few money wise people will tell you that real estate is a good investment, those that do well at it tend to have very large pockets - their many properties sit empty during the lows then they sell during the highs. Most don't have that option.

Houses are for living in (and living costs).

Yawwwwwnnn

This complaining is getting old and so is the drama of this. This is a correction, a much needed one.

Just like at its height people thought prices would never come down, well now they are coming down and eventually homes will appreciate at a more normal level.
