For those Florida voters who stood in line for hours to vote, thank you! You will always be heroes to me. They tried to make it hard for you to vote and you stood your ground. It does not matter which way you voted, you still stood in line for your voice to be heard and that matters. Thank you for voting!!!

I mean, good for them and all, but the word 'hero' is used far too freely these days.

How many people do you know would stand in line for seven and eight hours to vote, knowing they had to work the next day? I consider that pretty heroic.

It speaks well of them indeed, but 'heroes'?

I waited 3 hours, but I think my heroism levels would have dropped if I knew I had to wait 3-4 more hours, the 3 I waited was about the limit I could handle.

People use the word "heroes" too loosely these days. .

I dont think ppl that stood in line for a few hours to go vote are heroes at all. They're patient, not heroes. ..

a hero is someone who saves a life, cures a disease, etc.....not some goober that stood in line for a few hours because FLA didnt properly staff their voting stations.

More likely a hero is someone who takes a life, or many lives, at great risk to himself. Courage is needed. Think Achilles and Richard Cour de Lion. Or Audie Murphy. Not nice guys but heroic as Hell. Saving lives is heroic too of course but only if personal danger must be disregarded to do so. That's my opinion anyway.

In any event the Florida citizens who displayed patience, resolution and a dedication to civic duty in order to vote are certainly worthy of respect and admiration. They displayed Roman virtue and I commend them.

In his defense he said "heroes to the OP" Maybe the OP is Obama

OP while I don't think they are heroes, I give them a lot of credit. I didn't see a single person leave in my precinct. People were very civil and patient.
