Anywhere there is not a group of negative whining Florida bashers... that is where!!

I research my move every single day, I add things to my list and take things off my list as I learn more.

There is no perfect place anywhere in the world, but there are places that fit each person, it just doing the work to find it.

I agree best is a personal matter, each person has to choose and take in all the information and facts about the area your looking into.

For us, speaking to those individuals who live in that area, spending time in that area and reading tons of post on several boards allows me to sort and seperate the good, the bad and the bullcrap.

I find it rather odd that people who have left Florida dont seem to ever make a good comment about it. But then many post they left Florida for other reasons then problems or issues.

Now there are also several posters here who have left Florida and came back to Florida and love it, post about it and glad to be back.

I can tell you that in my research Sunrico is right on top of it, for us, it would be the panhandle hands down if it has all the things we enjoy, but it doesnt offer what my entire family wants, so we are sticking to a couple areas mainly in the gulf side central/north areas.

Research is the key to finding the "best" for you.

Being a native of florida, i must say that its not for everyone. Florida depends mostly on tourism. If making money is not really a priority in your life, florida is great. However, florida is probably the easiest place to get a job at minimum wage. Remember, when its cold up north, every homless person and people running from the law seem to come to florida. Theres also more crack then you,ll find at a weight watchers convention. hurricanes? we dont worry about things you we cant change. get out of the way, it will pass.

Does seem like the panhandle would be a great place to start. Take a vacation and be sure to visit all the major towns such as Pensacola, Ft. Walton/Destin and Panama City Beach.
