However, it is also very expensive, very boring for young people such as myself, and I am so tired of the lack of seasons! My mom and I are going to be among the many FL transplants to NC.

I voted Dade because I've been there several times and I was amazed at how dirty it is. It was fun to see, because it IS like a third world nation. I felt like I was in a latin american country. Chickens running around the streets, which are littered with trash. Ridiculous traffic, long transportation time to go anywhere. Insane housing costs to boot! If I were wealthy and could afford a condo in Bal Harbour or South Beach as an occasional vacation home...then maybe I'd like Miami. It is very cosmopolitan and opulent. It's funny though, it has such contrasts! Gorgeous mansions one block and filthy ghettos on the next. And for me, a person who is already tired of the constant heat in Sarasota, Miami is even worse. What little winter we are lucky to receive does not reach down to Miami.

If you find Sarasota boring what makes you think Asheville will be much different? Yes it has the mountains and moderate four seasons which I also think is awesome. Florida relentless heat and humidity when you live 9 to 5 inland isn't worth much and it seems like the A/C gets cranked up 10 months a year now. Now if you are into the beach and boating it is a much different perspective in which case it turns into a paradise. If you can I suggest taking a trip out west. It is a life changing event for anyone from Florida or the east coast..

The thing is, NJ's reputation is pretty unfounded too...but like Broward it's expensive, crowded, and congested. Actually, it's not that congested but people really think it is because there seems to be a conformist effect in this regard. Doesn't mean it's a bad place to live but for many thats a losing combination. It just really seems to be our reputation over here.

So Dade is most hated, but I just see it as, reputation wise, not looking that good to residents in the rest of Florida. Basically a second worst, even if it really isn't. New Jersey has this reputation in the United States but it really isn't that bad either, and there are far worse.

No doubt the east side has a ton of great Italian Ristorantes but many are having a tough time surviving unfortunately outside of the NE part of Lauderdale or up in Boca these days.. German-
American club up in Lake Worth seems to attract many local older Europeans with roots in the NE and Canada.. Also seems like a lot of Irish around here as well.
