I wonder why there are many places in Florida, namely cities, that not only are not located in the counties of the same name but also they are very far.

One would expect that there is a city called Dade in Miami-Dade (which was named solely Dade County before), the same goes for Seminole, Leesburg (Lee), etc.

Who says that it has to be a rule? Dade county was named for Major Francis Langhorn Dade who I think fought in one of the indian wars here in Florida. There are also several places named Miami outside of the state of Florida as well.
