It is most definitely NOT a dump, we lived there two years, and it is beautiful. So many lakes it almost felt coastal. Museums, performing art center, swan sanctuary, rolling hills, centuries old oaks lining brick streets, formal Hollis Gardens, Frank Lloyd Wright architecture, historic renovated downtown around a charming central park.... I could go on. I simply posted this for the benefit of people who might be looking for TRUE info from someone who had actually lived there.

Most of the area is nice and i would rather live there than where i live on the gulf. There are some rough areas i would see when going to the gunshow back in the 90's.
