It's like we are old friends...exchanging comments every day....I only commented about smokers and smoking...I have several friends that smoke and most are trying to quit...

I don't like the smell, I don't like seeing the cigarette butts all over the floor/ground/etc...I don't like the smokers that throw their lite cigarette out their car window...and I basically hate the smokers that insist upon smoking a cigarette when their kids or your kids or my kids are in their vehicle...but what the hell

The funny part...I do enjoy a good cigar about twice a year...so I guess that makes me bad too...

Ignore all you want. The fact remains that 2nd Hand smoke is KNOWN carcinogen.

I lean libertarian, but being a libertarian does not = being an anarchist. When you smoke, you affect my personal freedom to enjoy clean air and increase my risk for breathing problems and cancer. Hopefully, you can understand that angle, NHBorn, assuming you are from NH.
Lol...the cancer institute. Now there's an unbiased source for smoking info. Might as deal with Red Snapper limits based on what the commercial fisherman say. You can go to 20 different websites and get 20 different opinions on how harmful smoking is.

I would support it as well. However, alcohol and smoking go hand in hand..

Yeah you're right. We should just listen to what tobacco manufacturers tell us

I no more trust NCI's findings on SHS than those of RJ Reynolds or Phillip Morris. True ignorance is not getting information from numerous sources no matter where they stand on the issue.

I'm bumping this thread because it is still a relevant issue! I went out last night with friends and was once again subjected to the horrid air created by smokers in the bars. SHAME on you people who do this to others! If I wasn't leaving this state next month then I would start or join a movement to ban the smoking in Florida bars.

Shame on you!

How dare you try to take away people's right to smoke while they drink?!

Smoking is permitted in an establishment that is only a 'bar' and reports less than 10% of its gross receipts from 'food'. If you don't like 'smoke', go to a restaurant that has a bar like Applebee's, Chili's, where smoking is not permitted.
