Florida drivers are the biggest speeders in the country. You might make other people want to visit you if your police would ticket the speeders. They are the killers. Your drivers are so unsafe that we have taken you off our list of places to visit for vacation. Enjoy your proverty.

Someone is bitter... I guess you didn't realize Florida usually receives the most tourists in the entire country each year.

You are probably one of those drivers going 10 mph under the speed limit in the passing lane (left lane) with a string of 50 cars behind you, while the other lanes are open. Yep, we are glad you have taken us off your list.

I'm not sure what the poverty comment is about considering we are around the national average, but it's okay... whatever helps you get by

Someone get their feelings hurt in Florida?

Anyway the last thing I would call Florida are speeders. Want fast drivers go to Boston or California or Texas. Anyway Florida drivers do suck but I don't think speeding is the problem. GREAT to see this bill pass. Left lane drivers slowing traffic on highways are very dangerous. Ask Europe how they can do perfectly fine with higher speed limits. It's called people knowing how to drive and passing only on the left.

I think that slow drivers in the high speed lane are a much bigger hazard than drivers doing the speed limit or better.

Our highway design standards were created for cars with no radial tires, no power brakes, no power steering, no seat belts, no safety glass to drive on at 70 mph. Modern cars can handle 80 easily, given clear lanes and good weather.

If Florida drivers scare you, get to the right and stay there.

Please stick to the north and midwest with your $#%%# infrastructure and torn up salted roads. Let us Floridians drive the way we see fit on roads that are equipped for speeds you can't handle.

The bill, SB244, does make several exceptions including and traffic conditions that would make moving to the right dangerous, preparing to make a left turn and driving the speed limit while not impeding the flow of traffic

Now I drive 5 over the speed limit but the flow of traffic in the left lane alot of the time goes considerably faster than that. What was I supposed to do, speed and risk getting a ticket, or drive 5 over and have the speeders get mad at me?

Exactly. I think Florida should mirror Texas in passing 80 mph speed limits on roads that are clearly able to handle it. I also think if you or your car cannot safely operate at those speeds, then that's what the right lane and backroads are for.
