The "west" side of Orlando spans a huge area. There is the West Oaks mall off of HY50 out toward Winter Garden. Also large retail stores like target, Home Depot, Lowes, etc. For high traffic retail, I'd look in that area. As to where to live, you have many places out there to choose from. Affordable housing, all the way up to houses in the multi-millions.
