That's a good thing, right? Eating McDonalds is going to kill you way sooner that looking at Boobs!

have you been anywhere besides Florida in your life? It's like that everywhere, and personally, there is nothing wrong with that. Every state I've lived in there has been tons of "drinking and drug use". That's what young people do! When you go out, are you not supposed to get drunk?

have you ever been to Wisconsin? lol. It destroys Florida in regards to drinking.

Strip clubs are a main feature of the cities' night life. Outside of the larger cities, it's not as much. Northern cities keep that element at bay amd discourage it. It exists, but usually in a small, easily avoidable are.

It's not just Florida, but most southern cities.
That's not true.

I've managed to live in and/or have extended work stops in Tampa, Orlando, Ft. Myers, Atlanta, Nashville, Memphis, Birmingham, New Orleans, Louisville, Lexington, and Houston and no, the "seedy" element, drug use, and drinking isn't a problem in them all, actually not even close.

I tried to look up some statistics to support this but couldn't find any
Of course, when I say that FL is not any more 'seedy' than most other states, that is just my opinion, based on MY personal observations.

I've never lived *in* in a big city in ANY state, but have visited many cities across the United States, Canada and Costa Rica. I've been to almost every major area in FL. But of course I didn't visit every part of every city, so maybe that's why I don't think FL is excessively 'seedy'.

Have you ever been to NYC? I grew up in NY (25 miles outside of NYC). There are certainly more seedy elements in NYC worse than Florida.

I can admit when Im wrong. I looked up stats for both binge drinking and drug use. Florida ranks near the middle for illicit drug use and near the bottom for binge drinking. Yet, it seems so much more prevalent here (and Im not the only one of that opinion).

I am comparing my experience to New England, where Im from, though. Perhaps it's not that Florida is seedier than the rest of the country, but that my home is "cleaner" than most of the country. That could explain the difference in opinion on Florida between people. If you come from, and have lived in well mannered cities, Florida cities seem like a cesspool. I have traveled to Northern cities that had the same feeling, but a majoriy of my time up North are in Northern New England, Canada, and the West coast.

It's probably because you're looking for it. Not "seeking it out" personally, but if it's on your mind and you're looking for it, you're probably going to notice it more.

I hate this state, been living here for more than a decade. I am in Tallahassee right now, but I am tired of the blazing sun, I'd rather be in Seattle instead.

The worst thing about Florida is the labor market and lack of work in many fields, there just is not a influx of work coming into the state that will pay a wage that will allow the average person to have their cake and eat it.

Adapt to the culture. You are not in the N.E. now.
