I am going to be moving to Lakeland in December due to my husbands job transferring. We are coming from MI and very excited.. However we are still in search of a place to live. We will be going down next weekend to check out some apartments. Obviously it's hard to go with people's opinions on apartment ratings because you never hear of the good things. I was wondering if anyone has lived or known anyone that has lived in a couple apartments I have seen online that I liked. The Audubon Oaks, Lakeland Landings, Landings at Long Lake, Village at Park Road in Plant City, Hunters Ridge in Plant City or Huntington at Sundance in Mulberry. Could use all the feedback possible. Also what are the average utility costs? thank you

You will probably get more of a response in the Tampa Bay Forum. Good luck!

I'm not familiar with those apartments. I would recommend north Lakeland or south Lakeland. I have a 1700 square foot house and my electric bill is typically around $200 a month. It always peaks up to around $270 during peak summer months due to the intense heat, but the winter will get down to $150ish. Good luck in Lakeland... hopefully it won't be as big a shock to you as it was to me moving down here.

OMG! This was us 12 years ago. Job transfer from Michigan to Lakeland. We ended up living in Tampa though. Near USF. Given where his office was (W Memorial Blvd), he was able to take back roads (Knights Griffin) and he spent less time getting to work with no traffic than the people living in Lakeland did! We moved out in 2006 so don't know what current traffic is.

Sorry I don't have anything specific to add to your search. Just got super excited when I saw it, brought back old, good memories! Best of luck to you. Leaving was hard, the first year is all about adjusting, but looking back, it was the best thing we ever and have never regretted it. Hope you find a great place!
