So the Coral Gables would give you walkable to the downtown area of the Gables, Rhodes would be close to Brickell/Downtown Miami, Coconut Grove is close to the nightlife area of Coconut Grove some would call it Cocowalk its part of Miami though. Sunset Islands is close to Purdy Ave which is a small nightlife area but there are some good bars, lounges and good food there. That is in Miami Beach.

Also there is South Miami, it's downtown distrcit is not bad for nightlife either and there are plenty of homes nearby where walking to downtown South Miami is easy.

There are many districts around the city which will have bars, clubs and resturants. Miami Beach and Miami have a multiple districts while the smaller cities like Coral Gables and South Miami have their downtown areas.

Thanks. Is South Miami a nice area? Or nicer than say Coconut Grove or Coral Gables?

South Miami is nice. I prefer the Grove though but the two are similar. Coral Gables is the nicest area of the city IMO. It's also really expensive.

I don't think a young guy would be much into Coral Gables. South Miami is nice and definately walkable, but not nearly as happening as Coconut Grove.
